I selected this hotel as it is in the heart of the old city of Istanbul. We mingled with the people and got to know true Turkish hospitality. I could have chosen a european style more modern hotel but wanted this hotel as soon as I saw the photos especially the underground breakfast area. In my view, this is an an authentic and charming little hotel that makes you feel like you stepped back in time and space. If you love ancient and authentic structures, then this might be the one for you. Situated in a busy street, you get to see the real people of Istanbul in their everyday life. The breakfast area is an antique underground space that I find so unique! I think it is at least 300 years old if not more! As for the breakfast we got to enjoy an amazing selection every morning starting at 8 am. We came from the United States and have been in other hotels but have not seen this kind of selection of the daily breakfast including veggies and sweets. The staff is very helpful and friendly. As for the location of the hotel, being in the centre of the old city so close to all the attractions was worth it. We got the istanbul card and found the transportation to be easy. The staff even booked for us a bosphorus trip that we enjoyed. At the end we extended our stay by a few days. I do recommend this little gem that is charming and authentic. You will go home with sweet memories.

The hotel is a nice, budget option in the Old Section of Istanbul. The wifi works great, the water is hot and the beds are comfy. I extended my stay here and stayed quite a few days. The staff is friendly and even though I was here during a snowy and rainy period, my room was warm, due to the awesome heater. The hotel is only a few blocks from the Beyazit tram stop. If you get off of the tram, walk downhill towards the Sea of Marmara for about 7-8 blocks and you are there. If you come by taxi from the seaside, the bottom of the street is blocked off to car traffic, but cars can cut over a block or so and then head back over to the street the hotel is on. It's a steep hill going up, but I managed it with a backpack and a rolling suitcase. It's not that far, only about 4 blocks, maybe.

The hotel is more like a friendly Bed & Breakfast. Very pleasant and staff always ready to help. I had some unique and unexpected issues and they went out of their way to help me resolve them. Breakfast is freshly made and fruit was exceptional. All you can eat if you want a full stomach to start the day. Rooms include a refrigerator and the hotel's location is only 4 blocks from the Tram which takes you to the OLD CITY and you can continue on public transportation to TAXIM Square and even to the airport. The neighborhood is safe and the commercial stores/restaurants are vibrant and inexpensive. Taxi to airport is reasonably priced and reservations can be made by hotel staff. A police station is only a few blocks away. What more can you ask for at such a moderate price?

I stayed at this hotel three times in my month in Istanbul. The hotel is comfortable, homey and a good value for the price you pay. The heater works extremely well, which is such a blessing in winter. The owner is very nice, as is the rest of the staff there. The hotel offers Covid testing for only 15 Euros using a service that actually does the test inside the hotel lobby. I got my printed results within an hour or so. Pretty incredible, and very convenient when preparing for travel. Wifi is the most reliable that I have had during my month in Istanbul. The area around the hotel is safe and has convenience stores, a liquor store, a fruit seller and restaurants, all within a few blocks of the the hotel. Good for solo female travelers.

The hotel is located in Faith district next to the Grand Bazaar. it is around 20-30 min walk to main sights Aya Sofia and Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Mosque). Despite that the first impression on location is worrisome (not very clean, very busy and chaotic) - it is a very safe area. the building is historical and has a character. It is a bit shabby though. Every room is done in different style bringing you back to late Ottoman era. It is very clean and neat inside. Personal is very nice, helpful and friendly. They have a great breakfast options and one of the best Turkish coffee.)
